oh, yeah, baby, i’m back! and the grind resumes, i suppose... i’ve kinda lost interest in a lot of my hobbies, this website included, while i’ve been away in japan. i know that sounds kinda glamorous, but it wasn’t, really. i was supposed to be there for a family reunion, but the rest of my family’s flights got cancelled, so it was a bit of a bust in the beginning, though, my friends and partner showed up for part of it, and that was incredibly fun.

although, i’m beginning to think that i don’t do well living with others, haha.

i’m planning on updating the site to have a photo album so i can post my favorite pictures of the trip and also to keep a little repository for all of the images/gifs i’ve uploaded to neocities for easier access. i had a lot of fun and spent a ton of money, but i couldn’t be happier with what i purchased. i only wish i bought more stationery. it seems i’ll get my wish to buy more, though, since my family is planning on going back later this year, and i’m trying to go with them again. (i’m trying to convince my parents to fund at least part of the ticket as a birthday present, because i really don’t have the kind of money to go to japan twice a year, at least on my current salary salary.) i would really love to go again with my family this time, though…

also it seems, unfortunately, i’ve been bitten by the “live abroad curse” that plagues so many of my generation. i’m not certain what happened, because the last time i went to japan, i couldn’t wait to come back home, but this time, i didn’t want to leave. perhaps it was because i spent half the time in okinawa, which was gorgeous, and my family there was so nice and kind. but also, tokyo seemed more charming this time around and my japanese wasn’t as shabby as i thought it was. it kinda felt like riding a bike. i have a tendency to downplay it around others, because i don’t like when people have expectations that i can’t meet, which they normally do when you say you know a little bit of another language, but the days where i was alone, i navigated pretty well on my own. in fact, i got through whole exchanges completely in japanese, which was pretty cool.

in other news, i’m quite obsessed with pokopia now. it was everywhere in japan and i loved the designs of mosslax and peakychu, so i decided to purchase it (and my partner is lending me their switch 2 to play it so… score!) and have yet to put it down. i’m excited to share my favorite screenshots in the album, too! coming soon, i think.
